We emphasized the coincident of changing the way we think. We talked about the impact of positive thoughts on the brain, as well as negative thoughts. If you want to heal, fill you mind with positive thoughts by reading, meditating, listening to positive messages and more.

Herbalist Rosemary Gladstar supports
Vermont Healers.Org:
“I understand the need for strong local networks and the `village herbalist’ model that weaves a tight and beautiful fabric of resources for the healing of ourselves, and our planet. The Vermont community is home to a mecca of resources for natural living and health care. Though not lacking in resources for natural health care in this state, we are lacking in an effective and cost effective networking tool that unifies our community and makes the resources that are here more available. VermontHealers.org is that tool.”

from Leah Matteson:
I am writing you today to tell you about an upcoming event that I am participating in that is both very important and very exciting to me. It is NAMIWalks for the Mind of America, NAMI’s signature walkathon event that is being held in Montpelier, VT atState House Lawn on May 16th, 2009.
Ed and I will be participating once again in the NAMI-VT walk-a-thon to raise money for programs for educating families, consumers and the public about mental illness. As you all know, our son Patrick has a serious mental illness and remains incarcerated as a result of the inability of the judicial system to understand and appropriately deal with those who are seriously mentally ill. We hope Patrick will be out of jail by the time we do this walk next year (as he wants to participate with us). We are working hard to get mental health courts implemented. We have talked with a great many other families that have experienced this incredibly difficult path. This is our personal web page for NAMIWalks for the Mind of America. We have created this fundraising page because NAMI, and the work they do, is very important to us. They have been instrumental in helping us advocate for these changes. We have been able to change some legislative processes as a result but we have a long way to go and hope you will support and help us with this journey. Please join us for a walk or make a donation.
Additionally, we have been instrumental in getting some legislation passed to provide mental health treatment to those who are incarcerated.
Thanks!!! From –Leah, Ed and especially Patrick who misses everyone a great deal.
I would like to ask you to come and walk with me or to donate to support my participation in this great event. Visit my personal walker page to sign up:http://www.nami.org/namiwalks09/VMT/matteson.
This is also a link so you can donate directly to me online. Donating online is fast and secure, and I’ll get immediate notification via e-mail of your donation.
NAMI, the Nation’s Voice on Mental Illness, formerly the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, is the largest education, support and advocacy organization that serves the needs of all those whose lives are touched by these illnesses. This includespersons with mental illness, their families, friends, employers, the law enforcement community and policy makers. The NAMI organization is composed of approximately 1100 local affiliates, 50 state offices and a national office.
The goals of the NAMIWalks program are: to fight the stigma that surrounds mental illness, to build awareness of the fact that the mental health system in this country needs to be improved and to raise funds for NAMI so that they can continue their mission.
NAMI is a 501(c)3 charity and any donation you make to support my participation in this event is tax deductible. NAMI has been rated by Worth magazine as among the top 100 charities “most likely to save the world” and has been given an “A+” rating by The American Institute of Philanthropy for efficient and effective use of charitable dollars. NAMI has also been given 4 out of 4 stars by The Charity Navigator for short-term spending practices and long-term sustainability.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Leah Matteson

March 7th we reviewed the ‘unconscious’ and the character defense of escaping. What does that mean? Unconsiously we may believe the world is not a safe place and our decisions are based on this. We may conscious believe we are making decisions from a place of safety or strength. We will continue to discuss how our unconscious beliefs interfere with the life we want. Saturday 9a to 10a WSNO 1450am. Join the journey, be part of the adventure.
